We’ve some big news. The Mongol Rally launch is returning to JUNKTOWN.
Just a few miles outside of the Czech capital, Prague, Junktown is an apocalyptic fantasy town set in an ex-military base from the cold-war era. Tunnels and bunkers have been dug deep into the earth, concrete cathedrals left to rot after the fall of the union.
Taken by the scale and potential of the site, the ladies and gents of Junktown set about reviving it, building new structures from leftover crap, building their own vehicles and community who live on site throughout the summer.
We instantly fell in love with this place, not least because it had a fight swamp, but also because it sat just a few miles from where Mr Tom and Mr Joolz first conceived the idea for The Mongol Rally.
Last year saw The Rave Cave and Funk Bunker blasted out silo assisted tunes, the ‘shoot-a-cat’ stand relieved stressed out ralliers, and Junktown natives confused and baffled the crowds with their mime, magic and costume.
This year is set to be bigger and better. Make sure you check your emails for the latest news on The Mongol Rally.
