A proper adventure hurls you deep into the abyss of the unknown. Rules may seem like the antithesis of unpredictable mayhem but the forces of boredom are strong in this modern age. To protect against the advancing menace of technology and the scourge of over-planning there are a few vital rules. These must not be trifled with. They ensure the Mongol Rally delivers top-drawer chaos and does it's bit to help save the world..
- Your vehicle must be small, unsuitable and generally a bit crap
Cars must have an engine size of 1.2 litres or less. Motorbikes must have an engine size of 125cc or less.
- You are totally on your own
The Mongol Rally is an unsupported adventure. That means if you get yourself stuck, you have to get yourself un-stuck again.
- Each team must raise £1000 for charity
If you are privileged enough to charge across a third of the planet's surface in a rolling turd in the name of adventure you can easily do your bit to help save the world. Each team needs to raise £1000 for charity with at least £500 of that donated to the Mongol Rally Official charity, Cool Earth.
