We expect you all to respect the rules of this event, and recognise that they are designed to protect you and your horses. We also expect you to respect the hundreds of event staff who have come together to bring the Derby to life. Anyone abusive towards horses, urtuu families or Derby staff will risk disqualification from the event. The decision of the organisers is final and any rider disqualified will have to leave the course and make their own way home.
DQ 'offences' are more likely to be for a gross infringement of the spirit of the event, rather than any specific rule. For example not helping a rider in dire need, cheating to advance your position or riding the horses like you don't care if they will be fit to work again. Broadly speaking, "being a dick", and bringing the event into disrepute.
However a fourth veterinary penalty, if it hasn't already co-incided with a red card from our referees, will send you home.
You may also get disqualified when we publish the finish leaderboard a week after the event, if your final penalty score is so ridiculous that you would finish on day 11 or 12. You can get 'timed out'.
